2013 World Junior Championships

Blues goalie prospect Niklas Lundstrom earned a Silver Medal with Sweden, making 31 saves in a 3-1 loss to the United States in the Gold Medal Game.

Forward Ty Rattie and goaltender Jordan Binnington finished fourth in the tournament after falling to Russia 6-5 in overtime in the Bronze Medal Game on Saturday morning.

The tournament, which began Dec. 26 in Ufa, Russia, featured some of the best under-20 hockey players from the following nations: Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States.

At the start of the tournament, the Blues had five prospects representing their countries: Rattie (2010 2nd round pick, 32nd overall) and Binnington (2011 3rd round pick, 88th overall) play for Canada, while Lundstrom (2011 5th round pick, 132nd overall) represents Sweden. In addition, Dmitrj Jaskin (2011 2nd round pick, 41st overall) played for the Czech Republic and defenseman Petteri Lindbohm (2012 6th round pick, 176th overall) represented Finland.
